We are looking for an Analyst, Paid Media & Marketing with experience in retail and CPG marketing to join our team. We want someone with integrity, attention to detail, and, above all else, a self-starter’s approach to problem solving. In partnership with Venture’s full-service team, you will help the clients of one of Canada’s leading independent marketing agencies ground their marketing and communications in research, data, analytics and up-to-the-minute knowledge of markets, consumers and our campaigns.

Responsibilities include:

As a member of Venture's media community you will work with colleagues and clients to:

  • Conduct digital analysis, web analytics, media campaign reporting, and social and mobile measurement and reporting to discover key insights and provide ongoing recommendations to clients

  • Participate in the development of goals and KPIs and the strategies to meet them, and apply critical thinking to ensure our campaigns are delivering the greatest results for our clients

  • Work with digital channel leads to identify opportunities for testing and optimization, with the objective of improving efficiencies and performance.

  • Work with the media team to effectively onboard new media campaigns in regards to website needs, tracking implementation, user journey and attribution modeling, and KPI set up.

  • You will be responsible for staying on top of all campaign reporting, and providing analyses in a timely manner in order for our teams and clients to action your provided insights and recommendations.

  • You will create optimization roadmaps and analyze and present any test results in order to action your findings.

  • Conduct UX and Conversion Optimization audits for web; leveraging digital analytics tools in order to deliver relevant, actionable, and insightful recommendations to shape future site development and to inform digital marketing strategies.

  • Collaborate with traffic generation teams to optimize each conversion path.

  • Daily budget and conversion pacing management, ensuring accounts are consistently running smoothly

  • Stay abreast of latest Digital Media/PPC trends and user interfaces (Google Ads, Google Analytics, Bing), new betas and accounts features as well as new platforms to test. Work with members of Venture’s Strategy, Digital, and Integrated Media teams to establish measurement frameworks for digital campaigns and web properties, and to report on results

  • Custom reporting dashboards and report templates for our clients to be used on an ongoing basis

  • Benchmarks and insights to be logged and used for future campaigns

  • Media reports, including performance reporting based on analysis of buys, buy structure, media performance, sales and web performance, etc.; candidate must be well versed in paid media reporting and deriving insights from consumer journey models and media campaigns.

  • Prepare and verify industry and client data reports in support of ongoing activities for clients or within the agency using a variety of sources; candidate should be a self-starter who is capable of itemizing and organizing data needs, proactively, to produce the required reporting output that has been commissioned.

  • Conduct research related to SEO and SEM marketing, and provide recommendations to clients

  • Make recommendations to colleagues and clients regarding up-to-date digital marketing tools and trends

Required skills and experience:

We are looking for applicants with five or more years as a digital analyst within a client or agency environment, who speaks the language of retail and CPG marketing, paid media and ecommerce.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience and comfort analyzing ecommerce, consumer and retail data, and providing insights-based recommendations

  • Advanced knowledge and working ability with Google suite (including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Data Studio, and Google Search Console)

  • Proven working success utilizing SQL to query large data sets with demonstrated analytical skills in order to extract, organize and manipulate data from various datasets

  • Strong ability to analyze data and determine effectiveness of campaigns, especially integrated paid media campaigns

  • Experience working in an agency and/or with a media team is mandatory

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey and translate technical language with different levels and types of users

  • Enhanced familiarity and expertise with PowerBI and Excel, with the ability to discover and present key insights for colleagues and clients

  • Demonstrated HTML experience, and familiarity with WYSIWYGs

  • Experience working with CMS systems

  • Exceptional analytical, strategic, and research abilities

  • Excellent communications, organization, interpersonal and listening skills

  • Excellent writing and presentation development skills and high attention to detail

  • Demonstrated success meeting deadlines while handling a variety of concurrent projects and assignments
